Software Developer

Mphasis is looking for a Software Developer to design, develop, test and maintain scalable software applications and enterprise technology solutions. The role involves working across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, application development, debugging, testing, deployment and maintenance. The candidate may work with technologies such as Java, Python, JavaScript, .NET, REST APIs, databases, cloud platforms and modern software development frameworks, depending on the project requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong programming and problem-solving skills, good knowledge of software development concepts and the ability to build reliable, scalable and maintainable applications. The candidate should also be comfortable working in a collaborative, agile and enterprise technology environment. ### Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain software applications based on business and technical requirements. Write clean, efficient, scalable and maintainable code. Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop backend, frontend or full-stack application components as required. Build and integrate REST APIs and web services. Work with relational and NoSQL databases where applicable. Perform unit testing, integration testing and debugging. Identify and resolve software defects and production issues. Optimize application performance, scalability and reliability. Integrate applications with third-party services and enterprise systems. Work with cloud platforms and modern development tools. Use version-control systems such as Git for source code management. Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards. Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, architects, DevOps engineers and business stakeholders. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and development activities. Prepare technical documentation and maintain project-related information. Follow security, quality and software engineering best practices. Support application deployment, monitoring and maintenance. Stay updated with modern software development technologies and frameworks. ### Requirements Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, C#/.NET or another relevant programming language. Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts. Knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms. Understanding of software development principles and SDLC. Experience with web application development and backend/frontend technologies. Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON and web services. Understanding of SQL and database concepts. Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server is preferred. Knowledge of Git and version-control systems. Understanding of software testing and debugging practices. Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud is preferred. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Ability to write clean, reusable and maintainable code. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of application performance and scalability. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team. Willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks.
