Java Developer

Antino is hiring for a Java Developer role in Gurgaon for professionals with 2–5 years of experience in backend software development. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems using Java, Microservices, Kafka, databases, and distributed-system concepts. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong ownership of projects and understand the complete system architecture, including the technical decisions made during development. The role requires hands-on expertise in modern Java versions, database optimization, microservices architecture, event-driven systems, distributed transactions, performance optimization, and production-ready backend development. The selected candidate will work on complex backend systems where reliability, scalability, performance, observability, and fault tolerance are critical. Experience working on HealthTech / IoT systems and production-grade asynchronous architectures will be highly valuable. ### Key Responsibilities Project & Role Ownership Explain complete project architecture and individual contributions. Demonstrate end-to-end understanding of backend systems. Explain and justify important architectural decisions. Take ownership of assigned modules and production components. Collaborate with engineering teams on system design and implementation. Java Development Develop backend applications using modern Java. Work with Java 8, Java 17, and Java 21 features. Use Streams, Lambdas, Collections, and modern Java programming practices. Evaluate performance, readability, maintainability, and design trade-offs. Write clean, scalable, and production-ready Java code. Databases & SQL Design and work with relational databases. Write optimized SQL queries. Understand indexing and database performance. Work with stored procedures, views, triggers, and transactions. Determine appropriate responsibilities between the database and application layers. Troubleshoot database-related performance issues. Microservices & Event-Driven Architecture Design and develop microservice-based backend applications. Implement synchronous and asynchronous communication. Build event-driven architectures using Kafka. Design scalable and fault-tolerant services. Ensure proper communication and integration between distributed services. Kafka & Reliability Implement Kafka-based messaging systems. Design retry mechanisms and error-handling strategies. Work with Dead Letter Queues / Dead Letter Topics. Ensure message durability and fault tolerance. Build production-ready asynchronous processing systems. Monitor and troubleshoot messaging failures. Distributed Systems Design systems capable of handling distributed workloads. Implement idempotency mechanisms. Handle duplicate messages safely. Understand distributed transactions. Implement Saga patterns where required. Manage consistency across event-driven applications. Design reliable communication between distributed services. Performance & Scalability Identify application and database bottlenecks. Optimize backend services and database queries. Implement effective database indexing strategies. Handle concurrency and high-volume workloads. Monitor application performance. Apply observability and system-tuning techniques. Improve system scalability and reliability. Core Java & Data Structures Work extensively with Java Collections Framework. Understand HashMap, LinkedHashMap, TreeMap, and related collections. Implement thread-safe and concurrent collections. Analyze time and space complexity. Select appropriate data structures for application requirements. OOP & Multithreading Apply Object-Oriented Programming principles. Work with interfaces and abstract classes. Understand Java serialization. Implement and manage threads. Work with Runnable and concurrency concepts. Handle thread safety and concurrent processing. Coding & Problem Solving Solve algorithmic and programming problems. Work with arrays, linked lists, and other data structures. Analyze algorithm complexity. Optimize solutions for performance. Clearly explain technical approaches and implementation decisions. ### Requirements 2–5 years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on experience in Java backend development. Good knowledge of Java 8, 17, and 21. Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming. Experience with Microservices architecture. Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka. Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Understanding of distributed systems. Knowledge of asynchronous and event-driven architectures. Understanding of distributed transactions and Saga patterns. Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms. Experience with multithreading and concurrency.
