Software Engineer

Birlasoft is looking for a Software Engineer with strong experience in enterprise application development, backend engineering, microservices and software solution design. The role involves designing and developing enterprise-grade applications, customizing and integrating business process and case-management solutions, developing Spring Boot microservices, working with APIs and databases, and collaborating with technical and business teams. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Java, Java Enterprise, Spring Boot, JavaScript, React JS, IBM Case Manager and IBM FileNet P8 technologies, along with good understanding of enterprise application architecture and client-facing development. The role requires the ability to understand existing architecture, contribute to solution design, develop scalable applications, troubleshoot technical issues and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams. ### Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain enterprise software applications. Understand existing application architecture and contribute to technical solution design. Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications. Build and customize Spring Boot microservices. Develop and integrate REST APIs and enterprise application services. Work with IBM Case Manager solutions and APIs. Develop and customize solutions using IBM FileNet P8. Work with case-management and business-process-management applications. Integrate enterprise applications with other systems and services. Develop application components using JavaScript and related frontend technologies. Work with React JS for application interfaces where required. Troubleshoot application and integration issues. Perform code development, debugging and optimization. Ensure applications meet functional, performance and quality requirements. Participate in technical discussions and architectural decisions. Collaborate with developers, architects, business teams and clients. Understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Maintain application documentation and technical specifications. Support application deployment and production issues. Follow secure coding and software development best practices. Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and production-ready. ### Requirements 1–3 years of relevant software development experience. Strong hands-on experience in Java. Good knowledge of Java Enterprise / J2EE. Strong experience with Spring Boot. Experience developing microservices. Knowledge of REST APIs and enterprise integrations. Understanding of Business Process Management solutions. Experience with JavaScript. Knowledge of React JS. Experience with DOJO is an advantage for the specific enterprise stack. Understanding of application architecture and software development lifecycle. Good database and integration concepts. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. Ability to understand and explain technical architecture. Strong communication and client-interfacing skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. Good understanding of enterprise application development and production support.
